Bolthouse Farms® is committed to using innovative, environmentally-friendly farming techniques:
- Pivot Irrigation, which promotes an efficient and waste-free irrigation of crops, resulting in 20% less water used than in previous irrigation methods. Pivot Irrigation also results in a reduced use of pipe tractors, which lowers fuel use and emissions.
- Precision Farming, which implements the use of a Geographic Information System (GIS), improves agricultural output while reducing the use of natural resources, thus reducing the farming ‘footprint’ on the land.
- Waste Water & Dirt Reclamation, which ensures that by-products of our farming go to good use.
- GAP, or Good Agricultural Practices, which are standardized procedures that allow food control and safety at all stages of production
- Soil depletion prevention, which is accomplished using harvesters that reduce the amount of dirt hauled into the plant by 3-5%, thereby reducing soil depletion.
