Corporate Social Responsibility

Bolthouse Farms® believes in taking responsibility for preserving both the land it farms and the environment in which we all live. Its practices and programs reflect that commitment:

  • Bolthouse Farms® uses Solar Power Farming which reduces emissions and fossil fuel use while maximizing the use of farmland. Solar panels generate energy for powering the pumps used to water the fields and motors used in pivot irrigation.
  • Fresh Logistics, created by Bolthouse in 2006, distributes fresh produce via high speed rail from Bakersfield to Chicago. It’s a cleaner distribution model that reduces CO2 emissions by millions of pounds, diesel fuel by hundreds of thousands of gallons, and numerous other toxins/particulate emissions.
  • Bolthouse Farms® participated in the formation of the Spray Safe program, which prevents pesticide drift incidents which can harm nearby people and crops.
  • Bolthouse Farms® is committed to using recyclable packaging for its products. Beverage & salad dressing containers use PET #1 recyclable, a portion of which is made with re-grind plastic. Carrot bag film is LDPE #4 recyclable.
